Terms and Conditions

These Terms apply to straightfromspain.com and to all classes, plans and materials from Straight From Spain, LLC, doing business as Straight From Spain Academy ("SFS Academy," "we," "us"). By booking a class, buying a plan or using our website, you agree to these Terms. If you enroll a child, you accept these Terms on the child's behalf.

 

01  Our services

We offer one-to-one, small-group and family Spanish classes, mainly online by Zoom and in some cases in person. We also sell study guides, workbooks and books. Teachers are assigned by SFS Academy and may be located in the United States, Spain or other countries.

 

02  Eligibility and accounts

You must be 18 or older to buy services. Students under 18 must be enrolled by a parent or guardian, who is responsible for the account. Keep your student-portal login private and tell us if you suspect unauthorized use.

 

03  Plans and pricing

• Classes are sold as single classes or as plans with a set number of classes. Current prices are shown on our website or quoted to you in writing.

• Plans do not auto-renew. You buy a new plan when you are ready.

• Classes in a plan are valid for 12 months from purchase unless we agree otherwise in writing.

• Promotional or bonus classes have no cash value and cannot be transferred or refunded.

• Small-group classes have up to 4 students at the same level. If a group falls below its minimum size, we may adjust the format or price after talking with you.

 

04  Payments

• Payment is due before a class to confirm the booking.

• We accept payment through the student portal, by Zelle to Straight From Spain, LLC, or by invoice paid by card. Card-processing fees on invoices are paid by the student.

• We do not accept Venmo.

 

05  Scheduling, cancellations and missed classes

• You can book and cancel classes in the student portal.

• Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours before the class starts. The portal blocks self-cancellation inside that window.

• A class cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice, or missed without notice, counts as used.

• If a student is more than 15 minutes late, the class may be treated as a no-show. Late arrivals end at the scheduled time.

• If we or your teacher must cancel, we will reschedule the class at no cost.

• Class times are confirmed in your time zone. Please check your time zone setting when booking.

 

06  Refunds

Plan purchases are non-refundable. If you can't use your classes, we can pause your plan or move the unused classes to another family member.

Digital products (PDF guides, workbooks) are non-refundable once downloaded. Physical books bought on Amazon follow Amazon's return policy.

 

07  Free trial class

We may offer one free trial class per new student. It has no cash value and is not guaranteed for every request.

 

08  Conduct and online safety

• Students and families must treat teachers and classmates with respect. We may end services, without refund for classes already used, for abusive or disruptive behavior.

• A parent or guardian should be available nearby during online classes for young children.

• Please do not record classes without our written permission.

 

09  Loyalty program

Our "Estrellas" points program is optional and has no cash value. We may change or end it at any time. Points may expire as shown in the student portal.

 

10  Intellectual property

All class notes, workbooks, study guides, videos, books and website content belong to Straight From Spain, LLC. They are for the student's personal learning only. You may not copy, share, resell or publish them without our written permission.

 

11  Third-party services

We use services such as Wix, Zoom, Google and payment processors. Their own terms and privacy policies apply to your use of them, and we are not responsible for their outages or errors.

 

12  No guarantee of results

We do our best to help every student progress, but learning results depend on many factors, including practice and attendance. We do not guarantee a specific level, grade or exam score.

 

13  Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SFS Academy is not liable for indirect or consequential damages. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim.

 

14  Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. Changes apply from the date posted on this page and do not affect plans already paid for under earlier terms.

 

15  Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any dispute will be handled in the courts of Los Angeles County or Orange County, California, unless the law requires otherwise.
